Who is Darian?
Darian G. Burns is a minister, writer, communicator and lover of Christ. Before joining the work of projectSALT he served as the senior pastor of Dundalk Evangelical Presbyterian Church for seven years. His heart’s desire is to lead people into an authentic relationship with God and others based upon a firm understanding of God’s grace. He is passionate about helping people know the depth of God’s love and pleasure in them so that they can become better equipped toward a deeper relationship with Christ and His church.
Darian and Edith have three boys, Jonathan, Matthew and Micah. He has a Masters of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary, a Bachelors of Arts in History and Education from Shorter University and an Associates of Arts in Religion from Emmanuel College. Before being called to DEPC he had 20 years of ministry experience as an Associate Pastor, Minister of Youth, and Minister of Music. Darian is ordained by the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Who is Edith?
Edith has her Associates of Science in Deaf Education from Floyd College in Rome, Ga, her Bachelors in Special Education (MR), and her Masters in Interrelated Special Education from The State University of West Georgia. She taught special education in the Floyd County School System in Rome, GA where she worked with young adults with severe and profound disabilities and with young children with more moderate disabilities and autism. Edith has worked within the public school system and in a private Christian school as a teacher, a substitute teacher and as a teaching assistant.
For the last seven years, Edith has worked alongside her husband in his duties as pastor of DEPC in Baltimore, MD. After beginning a youth ministry at the church with her husband, she went on to develop and coordinate the children’s ministries at the church for several years, and has most recently started a women’s ministry at the church.
